Fast food is becoming more and more popular in China, especially among children and teenagers. Today, nothing is more representative of the fast pace of modern society than fast food. There are several reasons for its popularity. First, it is quick and convenient. Go into a fast food restaurant, and your food will be ready in a minute. You can satisfy your hunger instantly. Precious time won't be wasted in waiting-in-line to order or waiting at your table for your food to arrive. Second, its popularity is also attributed to the clean food, the excellent service and the comfortable environment of the fast food restaurant.
However, I think that fast food isn't healthy enough because it does not compose a balanced diet and is low in nutrition. Doctors suggest that people should avoid eating too much fast food. Although home cooking is time-consuming and following washing-u p tiresome, it offers healthy and delicious meals your body likes and needs.

In recent years, all kinds of electronic dictionaries and translation software have been developed. With the development of technology, these electronic dictionaries and software can help us translate not only words and phrases but even sentences and paragraphs. So some people come to the conclusion that machine translation will replace traditional human translation. However, I couldn’t agree with this argument.
Admittedly, translation machines and software bring much convenience for our study and our work. With them, we needn’t bother to leaf through the heavy dictionaries. However, machine translation has its disadvantages. First, generally speaking, translation software only can give direct translation, which is sometimes not in accordance with the original articles in logic and meaning. Second, some people depend on electronic dictionaries and software too much, which is unfavorable to their improvement in language ability.

Were it left to me to give some proposals, I would list the following ones. Not only should we make use of technology properly but also give full play to human wisdom. Do not rely on robots to do everything. It is reasonable for us to believe that the prospect of robots will be far from dim.
There are many reasons for my decision to study for postgraduate programs, one of which is the value of a master’s degree. It ensures me a secure future in a society in which college graduates in mounting numbers failed to be employed.
First, there is a recognition that a candidate with a master’s degree will have an competitive advantage over those with only a bachelor’s degree. Five years ago when college population accounted for only 30 percent of the people of the same age, it was easy for a college graduate to get a good job in any field. But now things are quite different. Second, the higher education you have, the higher salary you will receive. Just look at some big companies which compete against each other to recruit skilled personnel.
Briefly speaking, more knowledge means more opportunities. More years of academic studies will help equip you with more knowledge and skills. Then if conditions change, you can slip with comparative ease from one field into another, avoid the pain of waking up to find yourself out of a job.
