First,Freshmen can go to class together, to adapt tothe new teaching method and spend the free time together. Unlike high schoolwhich is busy, college life gives us a lot of spare time when everyone gather togetherin the dormitory to share the attitudes towards the new school and new teachers, discusstheir professional knowledge, and talk about the future plan of development. Itis very convenient to do these things if students in the same grade live in thesame dormitory.
Second, freshman is so shy, not familiar with the surrounding living together with the seniors, they may be laughed at and bullied, butfreshmen living together can help each other to be familiar with thesurroundings. For example, we can go around the campus and find it so this is what high school students think of no fun, but freshmen arefull of curiosity, so I think the freshmen should live together.
In conclusion, let us join hands together to create a good livingenvironment. The dormitory is also home to us. It needs our join efforts to letit become warm and harmonious. So, cherish our college life, cherish the collegefriendship.

Although Ben Bernanke and his colleagues gave a nod to the slowing economy , they repeated that they still considered inflation a bigger worry than weak growth.
That is not what Wall Street has been thinking. According to the latest Blue Chip monthly survey, four out of five financial forecasters reckon the central bank s next move will be to cut the federal funds rate. Some once optimistic seers have been busy cutting their growth forecasts. The price of fed funds futures suggests that financial markets see a 20% chance of lower interest rates by April. This had been close to 70%, but unexpectedly strong growth in jobs and then retail sales in November has caused some in the markets to think a rate cut less likely.
The central bankers are simultaneously more cautious and more optimistic than many on Wall Street. With core inflation still well above the 12% rate they unofficially deem appropriate, Mr. Bernanke and his colleagues are genuinely worried about price pressure. Although fuel costs have fallen sharply, core consumer prices, which exclude the volatile categories of food and energy, still rose by in the year to October. The Fed s preferred price gauge, the core personal consumption deflator, went up by in the year to October, only a little short of the fastest pace for a decade. With inflation still too high, cautious central bankers see scant reason for abandoning their hawkish rhetoric.
A test of spoken English will be included as an optional component of College English Test . Some people argue that it is absolutely necessary to hold a test of spoken English in China because we have been informed frequently that a Chinese student who has been learning English for over ten years cannot even communicate with a native speaker. A test of spoken English will bring the college students an awareness of the importance of oral English， and will thus help them with their communicating skills.
On the other hand， some others still maintain that a good command of reading and writing skills will be enough for the English learners. To some extent their opinion derives from the fact that students are already under considerable pressure from their coursework. Another required test will only add to their burden.
In my opinion， a test of spoken English will do more good than harm. Since China will continue its policy of opening and reform， the ability to speak English fluently is a must for anyone who wants to surpass others in a highly competitive society. Whether I take the test or not， I shall spare no efforts to practice oral English in the remaining years of my college study.

a good way of ridding yourself of certain kinds of dogmatism is to become aware of opinions held in social circles different from your own. if the people and the newspaper seem mad, perverse, and wicked, remind yourself that you seem so to them. in this opinion both parties may be right, but they cannot both be wrong. this reflection should generate a certain caution.
for those who have enough psychological imagination, it is a good plan to imagine an argument with a person having a different bias. this has one advantage, and only one, as compared with actual conversation with opponents; this one advantage is that the method is not subject to the same limitations of time and space.
There are people who believe that some numbers bring good luck， while others bring bad instance， in China the number eight is thought to be lucky. Turning our attention to the West， we find that the number seven is considered lucky， but the number 13 is avoided like the plague.
In spite of all these claims， most people would agree that there is little evidence that numbers have any influence on our lives. In fact， they say， the reverse seems to be the case. For one thing， we might expect calculators to break down every time they note the number 13， and for another， although every week has seven days we know that not every week is lucky for us.
Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments， I am inclined to agree with the latter point of view. It is obvious that there is no scientific basis for the belief that there is a connection between luck and in all， it seems to me to be superstition.
I prefer my English classes to be taught only in English because it is helpful for us to improve the ability of speaking and listening in a very short time. I have strong interest in English study and foreign culture, so I’d like to be totally immersed in the atmosphere of English so that I can quickly make progress. That’s why I prefer total English. However, since we are all English beginners, it’s really hard to understand all that the teacher says. Sometimes we need Chinese explanation. So my viewpoint is that we are taught not only in English but also using Chinese as a minor way to explain things that are hard to understand.
Reading selectively or extensively?
When asked about reading selectively or extensively. People may find it hard to come to consensus due to their different experience and conflicting values.
Those who advocate the ideas of reading selectively believe that you are less likely to win if you don’t excel in one field, since the competition is fierce today. For one thing, time is limited while are numerous. For another, some harmful books can corrupt one’s mind and even cause crimes.
Nevertheless, those who insist on reading extensively hold that people can broaden knowledge and experience by reading widely. First of all, one should always go after a greater achievement. Furthermore, only by reading extensively, can one keep abreast of time. Most important of all, knowledge is the source of power.
On balance, I think we should increase both the quality and quantity of our reading. That is because the significant of good reading cannot be overvalued as well as that of reading extensively.

议论文要在开篇提出自己的观点，就应该做到：
第一，必须根据题意要求和对议论事物的感受，有自己精辟的卓见，并形成自己的.判断，有自己的看法，然后提炼出来做文章的论点。也就是说，下笔前应该是成竹在胸，心中有底，知道自己要说什么。
