People all over the world today are beginning to hear and learn more and more about the problem of pollution. Pollution is caused either by man’s release of completely new and often artificial substances into the environment, or by releasing greatly increased amounts of a natural substance, such as oil from oil tankers into the sea.
The whole industrial process which makes many of the goods and machines we need and use in our daily lives, is bound to create a number of waste products which upset the environmental balance, or the ecological balance as it is also known. Many of these waste products can be prevented or disposed of sensibly, but clearly while more and more new and complex goods are produced there will be new, dangerous wastes to be disposed of, for example, the waste products from nuclear power stations. Many people, therefore, see pollution as only part of a larger and more complex problem, that is, the whole process of industrial production and consumption of goods.
Others again see the problem mainly in connection with agriculture, where new methods are helping farmers grow more and more on their land to feed our ever-increasing populations. However, the land itself if gradually becoming worn out as it is being used, in some cases, too heavily, and artificial fertilizers cannot restore the balance.
Whatever its underlying reasons, there is no doubt that much of the pollution caused could be controlled if only companies, individuals and governments would make more efforts. In the home there is an obvious need to control litter and waste. Food comes wrapped up three or four times in packages that all have to be disposed of; drinks are increasingly sold in bottles or tins which cannot be reused. This not only causes a litter problem, but also is a great waste of resources, in terms of glass, metals and paper. Advertising has helped this process by persuading many of us not only to buy things we neither want nor need, but also to throw away much of what we do buy.

翻译是考研英语中的固有题型，随着考试对长难句考察的侧重，近年来的翻译题中出现的句子也越来越长。

翻译过程中包括两个阶段：
正确理解和充分表达。
理解是表达的前提，而表达是理解的目的和结果，二者缺一不可，因此，考生在做英译汉部分试题时：
1、切记不可急躁，一定要先通读全文，把握全文的主旨、内容，把握划线部分的语境;
2、在着重理解划线部分时，首先要在语义上理清全句的整体意思和每个单词的意思;其次要分析清楚句子结构，理出句群，找出各分句之间的关系;
3、可考虑先打一份翻译草稿，再根据文章意义和汉语结构进行调整。
由于英语中，一词多义的现象十分普遍，且英汉词典中给出的汉语解释未必全面，未必与英文的意思完全对等，这就带来两方面的问题：
1、需要根据该多义词在其语言环境中的词类、搭配关系甚至是单复数形式来确定基本意思;
2、在”忠实“的原则下，如果词典上的释义显得不”通顺“，那么为了”忠实“与”通顺“的统一，我们必须立足于原意，对其加以适当的引申。
选择词义的时候，要根据词在句中的词类及上下文的搭配关系来确定。

但最近几年，对于考研英语作文该不该使用模板这一问题，出现了很多争议。我们最好就是把模板变成自己的东西。
1、高分还是低分的主要因素，不是是否使用了模板，而是语言质量是否高级，是否出现特别低级的语言错误。
使用模板的人，有相当一部分是想借助模板来掩盖自己的写作错误。
如果掩盖好了，不出现问题，那自然没事;但如果掩盖不好，还是暴露了一些不该有的错误，甚至模板默写都能出错的话，那就是考生自己的问题。
考研阅卷人的阅卷量是非常大，而且阅卷时间非常短暂，在这么有限的时间里，不可能对你的内容逐字逐句分析，所以想要得高分更多的还是要靠你的语言水平，也就是单词和句型的质量。
2、无论模板与否，阅卷人没有任何理由跟一篇完全写对了的文章过不去。
与其花时间纠结于用不用模板，不如考虑下自己写作的部分是否存在问题。说的通俗点，阅卷人不会跟一篇单词语法基本正确，没有重大错误，并且内容切题的文章过不去。
而且以上也符合考研写作大纲的要求，那又何必再去找其他根本没有提到的问题?
3、“模板痕迹”这个说法是典型的伪命题，不存在所谓的“模板痕迹”。
所谓“模板痕迹”的说法在阅卷中是不存在的，真实情况是：一些考生在使用模板的过程中，模板以外的部分出现了局部“致命”的错误，才导致了真实水平被阅卷人判断出来，从而分数特别低。
主要问题有三个方面：一，模板背诵、默写错误;二、自己填写部分的语法错误;三、模板内容选择跟文章不对应。
所以，究其原因并不是模板本身的问题，而是自己填入的词出现了问题。
4、写作想脱离模板是60分以上考生的一个理想要求，即使到了这个水平，脱离也存在一定风险。
一部分基础相对较好的考生会问：如果我的写作完全不用模板，是不是就不会出现这样的问题了?其实并非如此。
很多人的作文水平还是非常有限的，倘若完全不使用模板，靠自己的语言去写一篇文章，对语言能力的要求还是极高的，稍有不慎，就会满盘皆输。
另外，一个人的文章写得再好，再多的内容是自己写的，文章也或多或少会存在通用的部分。所以，完全脱离模板是不可能的。
当然，适度使用模板是利大于弊的。因为当多数内容有了模板的铺垫，这时只要将精力集中在模板里自己填入的部分，从而大大降低错误率。
5、写作的高分标准，一是错误率低，二是闪光点多，也就是单词和句式水平高，内容居其次。
写作如何拿高分?阅卷人比较倾向于什么内容?这是我们大多数人比较关注的问题。考虑到考生水平和阅卷时间，考研作文的方向标准大体上：错误率低，决定文章的分数下限;高水准句型，决定文章的分数上限。
所以在不跑题、论述合理的前提下，内容与文章的亮点就退居到了次要的位置。
6、考生真正要重视自己基本功的训练，而不是单纯纠结于用模板与否。
想要在模板和自己填入的内容间做出平衡，其实需要考生在平时多注重基本功的训练。但短期内把自己写作水平大幅度提高显然是不大可能的，而用一个模板去减轻写作压力，也是一个性价比较高的手段。
但是，为了避免模板以外的内容出错，还是建议考生在平时写作过程中尽可能将填入的部分多标记一下词性和结构，多总结下里面填入的内容，尽可能减少让阅卷人反感的错误。
7、适当重视试卷的外界因素，例如卷面和字数等。
这段时间，应该也要侧重重视一下英语能力之余的因素，比如说：卷面和字数。
阅卷老师是没有时间去数你的字数的。但是，字数多少不是一眼就能够看出来的么?
所以，为什么建议这段时间复习的时候，在答题卡上面进行练习，其实，就是让大家找到熟悉的答卷的感觉，也了解大约需要写多少。
小作文，130字左右，就比较划算。耗时不多，而且字数看上去很美。
关于字迹的问题。现如今，练字已经来不及了。想要追求好看是不大可能的。但是，强调，划重点，字迹整齐，是一定要做到的，而且也是一定能够做到的。卷面上少一点点涂抹，即便写错了，也请轻轻地画两条平行的删除横线，没有必要涂抹成一团黑。
而且，建议还是写得略微整齐一些。因为，这是和阅卷老师的第一次亲密接触，还是要留个好印象。毕竟关系到你的分数。试想，如果你对一个人印象不好，大约你看到的基本上都是缺点了。那么，同样，阅卷老师对于你的初始印象不好，大约也只能看到错误了。而，对于你们的作文来说，阅卷老师如果想要找错误啊，那简直不要再容易哦……
总之，大家要明白模板本身并没有绝对的褒贬色彩，绝对脱离模板的文章也是不存在的。
模板只是我们在平时写作过程中形成的固定格式，提供给了考生一个写作的思路和框架。就像建筑需要框架，人需要骨架一样。
但要想获得高分，就要在框架之上添加自己的内容，把模板变成自己的东西，只有文章中有自己的内容，才会吸引阅卷老师的眼球!
一、考研复试英语听力备考攻略
复试中，考官对英语的听说能力考查较多，有时甚至会涉及一些专业性问题。导师也大都比较在意自己弟子的英语水平。
(一) 考研复试英语听力题型
虽然不同的学校考察的题型不同，但总的来说，考研复试英语听力题型可以分为两大类：
1. 客观题
若要细分，还可以将其分为：
①对话。这种对话通常比较短小，基本上就是两个人的简单对话，和四六级的听力差不多。这类题型较为简单。
② 篇章理解。这个题材通常是传记、论述、人文或者是地理研究类的文章。
③听写，就是我们常说的dictation。英语专业的人都比较熟悉这部分，这是英语专业四级中必考的题型。通常是让你补全一段话中的空格，或者是听写全文。这个难度较大，平常需要认真复习。
2. 主观题
这里的主观题，其实就是我们在高中英语中常见到的一种题型：retell，先听录音或者是听导师读，然后将听到的内容进行大致上的含义复述即可。
(二) 备考方法
1. 多渠道获取复试信息
尽管听力考试是复试中的必考科目之一，但是每个学校考察的方式可能略有不同。
因此，各位考生应该通过各种渠道了解：目标院校往年的英语听力的考察难度、考察范围及常用材料，了解听力在整个复试中所占的分数权重，以及本专业对英语听力的要求程度等。
英语听力部分，大多数学校都以现有的成型考试为参考。考生在复习时可以有针对性地做一些六级或托福听力或雅思听力或新闻英语听力的试题，找找做题的节奏和感觉。
在了解相关信息之后，考生可结合自己的情况，制定出相应的备考计划，进行针对性训练。
2. 精听和泛听相结合
精听需要我们把每一个句乃至每一个单词都写出来。
在写的过程中，考生可以很快发现自己在哪一方面需要加强训练，是在语音方面、语调方面、词汇方面，还是文化背景知识方面。泛听，是指考生听录音材料的时候，只需要将材料中的关键信息抓住，不必把听到的每一句都写出来。
如果考生听力较弱，建议前期以精听训练为主。
3. 遵循先听后看的训练方法
考生一定要先听录音，把录音听2遍、3遍、甚至更多遍，直到听不出任何新的内容为止，再看录音文字材料。如果因为自己听不懂，就忙着看文字材料，就把听力训练变成了阅读训练。
4. 边听边记、记忆关键词
例如：数字信息、人物关系、人物身份、地点方向、态度方向、建议意见、弦外之音。
5. 熟记逻辑关系词，把握语篇重点内容
例如：表转折、递进、总结等逻辑关系的词。
二、考研复试英语口语必备
对口语的考查，首先应准备有关自我介绍的话题，要尽量达到流利的程度。
另外要准备一些可谈论的话题，如风俗习惯、社会上发生的大事等等。最后，由于口语测试时老师有可能要求你就本专业展开话题，考查你用英语讲解陌生概念的能力，因此熟悉本专业常用的英语词汇，适当阅读最新的专业外文期刊是必要的。

I’m a 20—year—old boy, and the following is my story.
A month after I graduated from high school in August, 2013, I was coming home from swim_practice in the training centre of the city and was involved in a car accident. I was so seriously injured that I was in a coma for more than two months at Prince Georges Hospital.
I suffered a lot from the experience of dying eight times during my coma and I couldn’t open my mouth to talk or to communicate when I eventually came around. After receiving a total of 15 operations and 36 blood transfusions, I had to make every great effort to learn to talk, eat, walk, shower, and live on my own again. When I was out of hospital,_I still had to go to outpatient therapy in Waldorf, Maryland. After I spent a few months in a wheelchair,_I took baby steps to walk on my own. It was a miracle that I was able to walk again, but I still wanted to prove that I could not only walk, but also run.
When it came true, I wanted to get back into the pool again. After having a few lung tests, I was able to go in the pool a little bit each week. After a few months of swim training,_I began my freshman year at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and then became a proud member of the swim team.
