Chinese high speed train has won many praise from foreign people. The trains always start off as the timetable and reach the destination on time. High speed train is popular by the public by its speed and punctuality, but what if someone breaks the traffic rule? Recently, a video got popular on the Internet. A woman was stuck in the door of high speed train and the staffs tried to stop her but failed. She said her husband was on the way and she wanted the train to start off later. How ridiculous it was. How could she let all the passengers to wait for her. Everybody’s time is precious.

A True, Good Student
What is meant by a true, good student ? A true, good student is one who possesses good morality, sound health, perfect knowledge and various abilities. To attain this, I shall give a few suggestions as follows:
First, cultivate good morality. One of the best qualities of a student is good behavior. Bad character is easily scorned and disdained. Polite manners and noble ideas make up a true man. Such evil habits as smoking, drinking, gambling, etc. should be got rid of. Whenever you find something wrong, correct it quickly. You should be sincere to your friends, respectful to your teachers and the elder. In short, you should do everything right.
Second, study diligently and put your knowledge to practical use. “Knowledge is power”, said Francis Bacon. One will not reach the rich storehouse of knowledge unless he studies carefully: no diligence, no accomplishment. To apply knowledge to practical use is, however, more important. Students ought to apply their learning to something practical to benefit the people.
Third, make your body strong and healthy. Health is the key to success. Broken in health, one can do nothing. A sound mind is found only in a sound body. The healthier your body is, the brighter your mind will be, and the higher learning you can attain. So you should never neglect your health. “Work while you work; play while you play” is a good way for everybody to observe.
With the foregoing three points in mind, you may be “a truly good student”.
What animals mean to human being, close friends or lists of recipe? Some people consider that animals should be regarded as friends instead of food or sources of clothing, while the opponents think animals are born to service for human being.
As far as I am concerned, I advocate the former's opinoin. There are two main reasons for that. First of all, it is known that more and more rare animals are endangered, because of the human being's capture. People peel off the animals' skin to make coats and use their further to make clothes, even eating the meat of extinct animals and don't care whether the food is delious or not, only because it is rare and not easily available. Which definitely leads to the extinction of certain animals. On the other hand, with the development of civilization, people should acknowledge that every creature has its right to live. Which guaranteea the harmony of the earth. Thus people need to show their respect to the animals and let them live better instead of hurting them or killing them. This behavior should be forbidden in today's civilized circumstance.
In conclusion, presently animals are no longer regarded as sources of food and clothing. In stead, animals are people's close friends who can company people especially to the olders who always like rearing the pets with whose company the olders don't feel lonely any more. For those animals who are disapearing, people need to pay more attention to them to aviod their extinction. Otherwise people could only see them in museum, not in the nature. What a pity.

In recent years, the training class is becoming a concern for the majority of people throughout the society. For example, the English training class, the computer training class, the painting training class and so on.
When it comes to this phenomenon, some reasons can account for it. To start with, many parents hope that their children can learn more on training class to get the higher grades in exams. Further more, time is developed, the life levels of people changed better, people want to learn extra knowledge or kills to rich themselves. Last but not least, the society is developing fast and needs more various talents, so many kinds of training classes set up.
Taking all the above mentioned reasons in consideration, I may reasonably draw a conclusion that the appearing of training class is inevitable. So in my opinion, we should accept to training class but can not participate in it blindly.

Living with grandparents，out of date For thousands of years, Chinese people have valued the large family with three, four, or even five generations living under the same roof. In this way of life, the older generation can enjoy a happy and easy late life with their children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren growing up beside them and keeping them from being lonely. However, as the society advances and people enjoy a more comfortable life, the big families are disappearing/disintegrating . Along with the growth of so-called “empty nestles”, which means the young birds have flown away and only the old are left alone, young parents are living with their own nuclear families. It goes without saying that the collapse of big families and prevalence of smaller ones are the result of our times. It is a time when people think highly of individual freedom and happiness. Young people like to have a space all alone to themselves. Even the elderly people would like to live separately from their children to enjoy a quieter and more peaceful life, taking the view that having reared many children, they have no obligations to nurture the third generation. Likewise, young parents, living in their own house, have their own way to educate their child, free from the worry that the grandpa or grandma would spoil their grandson. At weekend or on holidays they would make a point of visiting their parents, bringing the child along. After a happy reunion of the family now and then, every member cannot wait for the next one. This arrangement not only shuns the unavoidable conflicts between generations but also becomes a sweet memory. With the progress of the society, problems of old age and childcare have been socialized gradually. Senior citizens can live together and be taken good care of by specialized nurses. Childcare center also provides good service for small children. All these free the young people from unnecessary burden and thus they can work well and make greater contributions to the society in the end. Therefore, I have every reason to believe that this trend of families in reduced size is agreeable to our times. To create a brighter future, we should do our best to build our society into one in which every member lives healthily and harmoniously.

I think that free time is a precious thing for most of us. When we’re working hard, it’s nice to imagine what we’ll do when the weekend comes. We juggle one idea with another, trying to decide what best suits our budget and the amount of time we have. After all, anticipating free time is part of the pleasure.
It’s good to plan what we’re going to do with our free time. That way we won’t waste any of it trying to decide. It’s so easy to just sit around and think about this or that activity. Before we know it, half the day is gone. If we decide ahead of time, We can get started in plenty of time, and we can get the most benefit out of the time we have. For instance, if we’re going on a picnic, we can get all our supplies ready to go. Or if we’re going to a movie, we can find out the time and how long it’ll take us to get there. Also, if we plan what we’re going to do with our free time, we can invite others to join us. If we wait until the last minute, our friends may have other plans.
On the other hand, it’s also fun sometimes to do things without a plan. We can just leave the house and walk around and see what catches our attention. Often, this is how we discover places we never knew existed. We might end up doing something we never thought we’d try. We might just happen to find ourselves outside a new bookstore or a bowling alley and go in on a whim, because we have some free time.
It’s nice if we can have the best of both worlds. We can plan our free time activities for one day of the weekend, and let the other day plan itself. This way our free time also gives us the enjoyment of having it both ways.

The urban traffic is getting increasingly crowded nowadays in China. The roads are pakced with cars, bicylces and pedestrians and traffic jams, bus delays and traffic accidents are a common scene.
Then how to solve this problem? Some suggest to lay down more roads to make the traffic less crowded and speed up the flow of traffic. Others believe that we should open up more public bus routes, so that more people will take the public buses instead of travelling by cars and bicycles.
Though above two views sound reasonable, they have their own drawbacks. The fomer may take up much land which could be used for farms and houses. The latter may cause inconvenience for those who are used to travelling by car or bicycles. I think the best answer to the traffic problem is a combination of the two. More roads can be built to hold more traffic and meanwhile more public bus routes can be opened up to those who prefer to use the public transportation.
Everyone has goals. Many people do not reach their goals for lack of planning. These three sets of goals should be developed: lifetime, intermediate and short term. Lifetime goals should be written out. These goals should be clear and reasonable. For instance, the goal to win a research prize is clear and measurable. Other lifetime goals might include publishing a certain number of influential books or articles, earning a departmental chairmanship at a major university, successfully competing for a grant from the National Science Foundation or securing a consultantship with a big corporation.
Intermediate goals relate to outcomes during the next few years. For the beginning doctoral student, intermediate goals may include completion of course work and preparation of a doctoral research proposal. Like lifetime goals, these are measurable and clearly stated.
Short-term goals involve outcomes expected during the next 12 months. These goals are more performance oriented, and they help with achievement of intermediate goals. Examples of short-term goals are earning an A in a course, learning how to program a computer or performing an experiment.
there are many arguments about the advantages and disadvantages of people think eamination is the only best way to test how eaminees have mastered what they have studied and it is the only measurement for eaminers to select which persons they , on the other hand,some object that eamination cant measure how the students have really say it can do nothing but burden the students.

A fifteen-year-old boy was injured in a car accident when the minivan he was traveling in was hit by a pickup truck at an intersection. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital. when were little, our mother is the center of our attention, and we are the center of hers. so our mothers characteristics leave an indelible impression, and we are forever after attracted to people with her facial features, body type, personality, even sense of humor. if our mother was warm and giving, as adults we tend to be attracted to people who are warm and giving. if our mother was strong and even-tempered, we are going to be attracted to a fair-minded strength in our mates.
the mother has an additional influence on her sons: she not only gives them clues to what they will find attractive in a mate, but also affects how they feel about women in general. so if she is warm and nice, her sons are going to think thats the way women are. they will likely grow up warm and responsive lovers and also be cooperative around the house.
conversely, a mother who has a depressive personality, and is sometimes friendly but then suddenly turns cold and rejecting, may raise a man who becomes a dance-away lover. because hes been so scared about love from his mother, he is afraid of commitment and may pull away from a girlfriend for this reason.
while the mother determines in large part what qualities attract us in a mate, its the father -- the first male in our lives -- who influences how we relate to the opposite se. fathers have an enormous effect on their childrens personalities and chances of marital happiness.
just as mothers influence their sons general feelings toward women, fathers influence their daughters general feelings about men. if a father lavishes praise on his daughter and demonstrates that she is a worthwhile person, shell feel very good about herself in relation to men. but if the father is cold, critical or absent, the daughter will tend to feel shes not very lovable or attractive.
in addition, most of us grow up with people of similar social circumstances. we hang around with people in the same town; our friends have about the same educational backgrounds and career goals. we tend to be most comfortable with these people, and therefore we tend to link up with others whose families are often much like our own.

the damage was everywhere. a personal landmark, the granada hills kaiser permanente medical center, collapsed. the site where i had volunteered as a teen advisor 鈥?lobbying for and improving the quality of the teen health clinic while working one- on-one with underprivileged, problem teenagers 鈥?no longer eisted. only an empty lot and the memory of a valuable and productive medical and psychological outreach program for troubled youth remained.
as much as northridge and its surrounding regions changed eternally, so did the lives of the victims internally. following this traumatic eperience, i developed a keen awareness of the fragility of life and a newly restored appreciating for the simplest of my old comforts. as vulnerable and edgy as i was with every aftershock that rolled through the area, i consoled myself with reminders of how we were spared.
with a profound sense of gratitude for our relative good fortune, within weeks of the initial quake i volunteered at the american red cross earthquake relief center.
as my family and i rebuilt our home and our lives, i translated for iranian earthquake victims and performed various clerical tasks. yet, my most valuable contribution to the earthquake relief team stemmed from the moral support i was qualified to provide. with my earthquake eperience, i was able to comfort the teary-eyed victims who approached us for help. i gave them the hope and understanding they sought from a primarily out-of-state staff. i benefited too: my work for the red cross aroused my curiosity in public interest law.
i had the opportunity to eplore this new interest in the summer when i interned in washington . for congressman howard p. (buck) smith of california. that summer i was responsible for attending meetings and informing the congressmans staff of the issues discussed. one of the issues i followed dealt with a proposed guideline to prohibit religious epression in the workplace due to its allegedly offensive nature. defining such acts as wearing a star of david or praying silently before a meal as religious harassment, the bill attempted to equate these acts with verbal or seual harassment.
still the most fulfilling eperience of my internship was serving the mr. smiths constituents when they wrote, called, or visited our washington office. their concerns covered many issues, including city maintenance and the enforcement of fcc regulations on local radio stations; yet, most cries for help grew out of the january 17 disaster.
my eperience in the earthquake proved to be useful in my internship. after all, i was working with mr. earthquake himself. as the only intern from northridge, i was assigned to the earthquake project. i acted as a liaison between constituents and the small business administration, federal emergency management agency, and other governmental agencies that handled quake reconstruction monies. because of my eperience, i was again able to empathize with victims in a way that neither the staff nor the other interns could. as a result of my work, i gained a more profound grasp of the legal process and how it was able to help northridge residents with their post earthquake problems.
the january 17 earthquake dramatically changed my world 鈥?both inside and out. in the red cross shelter and in congressman smiths office, my career ambitions took shape: public interest law grabbed me. now i want to help those who cannot purchase legal services, not only by providing the empathy gained during my own trying eperiences, but also by using the skills and knowledge i will acquire at the abc law school. with this preparation, i look forward to helping others escape their legal or bureaucratic twilight zones.
