Is It Good to Send Students to Study Abroad?
In recent year, as people’sliving quality increase, most families are tending to send their children tostudy abroad. This phenomenon has caused most people’s attention. Some argue that we should send children to foreign country to study because they think that other countries’ education is better than our traditional Chinese education. Some don’t think so because they believe that students should learn our traditional culture instead of going abroad. In my opinion, I think students should be sent to foreign country to receive sophisticated education. Reasons are listed as the following.
Firstly, Students can learn more through foreign country’s education. As we all know, most students study justfor entering into a better university in our country. All they learn is how to pass exams and get high scores in school. On the contrary, the Western education pays attention to students’ practical ability which would be a more efficient way to learn rather than getting knowledge from books. To get more experience, students should be sent to abroad to study.
Secondly, students would be more independent after study abroad. When students are sent to abroad, they must take care of themselves in all aspects, gradually, they would learn how to deal with things they confronted rather than turning to their parents as they may do in their own country.
All in all, students should be sent to abroad to study so that they can attain more knowledge and also become more independently.
送学生到国外读书好不好?最近几年，随着人们生活质量的提高，许多的家庭都选择把孩子送到国外读书。这种现象引起了很多人的关注。一些人认为我们送孩子到国外读书可以让孩子受到比中国传统教育更好的教育。一些人却不这样认为，他们觉得孩子应该在国内多学习中国的文化，而不是到国外接受教育。就我来说，我认为学生应该被送到国外接受先进的教育。原因如下：首先，国外的教育能让学生学到更多的知识。
众所周知，国内的大部分学生学习的目的都是为了能够进入一所稍微好点儿的大学。他们在学校学到的东西主要是为了通过考试和获得高分。相反地，西方教育更注重锻炼学生的实际能力，这样一来，学生从实践中学到的知识比从书本上得到的知识更多。为了能得到更多的.实践经验，学生应该到国外读书。其次，在国外学习过的学生会更加独立。学生在国外读书的时候，他们必须自己照顾自己，所有的事情都必须自己处理。因此，在国外他们要学会自己处理遇到的问题而不像在国内一样向父母求助。总之，送学生到国外读书不仅能学到更多的知识，而且学生也会变得更加独立。
Studying abroad seems to be a hot topic in the past two years. Many Chinese go abroad to study in developed countries such as the United States and Britain. What are the reasons why so many people choose to study abroad? Is it to explore more knowledge? Or for the construction of the motherland to give their own strength? Or to get a diploma from a _famous foreign university_ and find a good job? We dont know any of that. But I think most people are looking for a good job. In other words, they are looking for a good life.
I am also thinking about a question: if I go to study abroad, what will I do for? I think I will face the unknown challenges. Challenging the lonely moments of being disconnected and without family in America; Challenge the lonely moment of being ill and helpless; The pain you feel when the pressures of school and finance are all on you... When these challenges come, I dont know if I can stand it. But I am sure that after these experiences, I will be improved than before, and I will be more mature than before. When I cross the mountains, through the sea of people, across the great river, and then encounter the small episode on the road of life, it will certainly be a lot easier. I hope that after I return from studying abroad, I can not be counted as having harvested the vicissitudes of life, but at least I can harvest the depth of life. Thats right, depth. There are some people around me who can do it and calm down, and there are some people who make a fuss and cant calm down when they encounter something. I think it is determined by the depth of life. Only after experiencing some things, learning lessons, learning independence, understanding the truth, and gaining experience can it be possible to expand the depth of your life and improve your consciousness.
Thats why I study abroad. I hope that if the funds allow, the human body is healthy, and the mind is sound, I can go abroad to _toss_ myself, not only for the benefit of the money and the future, but also for the depth of life.

我也在想一个问题：如果我去留学，我会为了什么？我想我会去面对那些未知的挑战吧。挑战身在美国，联系不畅举目无亲的寂寞时刻；挑战生了病手足无措，孤立无援的孤独时刻；挑战当学业、经济的压力全部压在身上时的痛苦感觉……当这些挑战来临的时候，我不知道我能否禁受得住。但我敢肯定的是，经历过这些的我，一定会比之前的我有提升，一定会比之前的我更成熟。当我跨过崇山峻岭，穿过人山人海，迈过大江大河后，再遇到人生路上的`小插曲时，肯定会轻松许多。我希望留学归来的我，不算是收获了沧桑，但至少可以收获人生的深度。没错，就是深度。在我身边有些人能做到泰山崩于前而从容淡定，也有些人大惊小怪，一遇到什么事就沉不住气。我认为这是由人生的深度决定的。只有经历过了一些事情，得到了教训，学会了独立，懂得了道理，收获了经验，才有可能拓展自己的人生深度，提高自己的觉悟。
这就是我为什么留学的原因。我希望，如果资金允许、人体健康、心智健全的话，我可以去国外“折腾”一下自己，不仅仅为利益上的钱途和前途，更为了人生的深度。
Nowadays, going abroad for studies is enjoying a striking popularity among adolescents. Importance should be attached to studying abroad.
There are a great many advantages of studying overseas. First and foremost, living and studying abroad offers students a different perspective of the world. On a university campus, international students are likely to encounter their counterparts from various countries and areas and are exposed to diverse ideas and values. What is more, overseas experience is the best opportunity for the real-life use of foreign languages. There is no better opportunity to improve second-language skills than living in the country in which it is spoken.
Generally peaking, it is my view that although going abroad is expensive and perhaps painful, the payoff is worthwhile. In the first place, in addition to knowledge, overseas students can gain precious experiences that those who stay at home will never have. Furthermore, overseas experience, frustrating and painful as it may be, is conducive to the growth of adolescents.

Aowadays, with the development of science and technology, moreandmorepeople want to study abroad. there are students from colleges and universities, from the middle schools, from the primary schools, and people from all walks of life. what difference does it makebetween studying abroad and studying home ?
Though many students are crazy about going abroad to pursue their higher education, i think studying home is preferable. for one thing, you don’t have to take foreign language tests such as toefl and gre . this can save you a tremendous amount of time, money and effort, allowing much of your energy to be devoted to your academic foals. in addition, if you study home ,you can stay with your family and old friends. meanwhile , while studying home ,you can enjoy the kind of intimate friendship and comfortable family atmosphere which you can only dream of in a foreign university , where you will be accompanied by your own shadow most of the time. for these reasons, pursuing one’s higher education at home is a more realistic and sensible choice.
In a word, i prefer to study home.

The other day I announced that I would go abroad for further studies right after my college education. My decision evoked the immediate objection of my family： Why？ Why should I borrow a huge sum of money for overseas studies while I might receive the same education at home at relatively low cost？ My answer is： in addition to knowledge， I can gain experience that those who stay at home will never have.
First， experience is the opportunity for the real-life use of foreign languages. While a person can study a foreign language at home， the effect can never be compared with constant use of the language in academic and everyday life. There is no better opportunity to improve second-language skills than living in the country in which it is spoken. Living in English-speaking countries such as America and Australia for several years， for example， my English will be as perfect as native speakers.
Second， living and studying abroad offers me a different perspective of the world. On a university campus， foreign students are likely to encounter their counterparts from different countries and areas and are exposed to different ideas and values. This helps me to have a meaningful understanding of different societies and inevitably sees my own country in a new light.
Third， overseas experience， frustrating and painful as it may be， is helpful. A person going abroad for study often experiences much more difficulty——difficulty in adapting to a new culture and in dealing with all problems alone. Yet， the difficulty， coupled with the frustration brought on by culture shock， is a rewarding experience for one's future life and development of personality.
Although going abroad is expensive and perhaps painful， the payoff is worthwhile. For the benefit is not merely knowledge gained， but the experience desirable in one's personal life.

I am just an ordinary one among tens of millions of overseas students, and like most people, I have experienced many setbacks and loneliness, and there is a lot of unknown bitterness behind the glory envied by others.
